Adapted Revised X-Axis for Prusa i3 printers

I’ve adapted the Revised X-Axis to work with the stock extruder and with the PitStop extruder. Works with the stock Prusa MK2/MK3 frame, as well as with the Bear frame. Additional parts required; see BOM video. This design is derived from Vecko's Revised X-Axis.

Compatibility

BOM

  1. Idler, either:
    • stock idler + M3x12mm screw or M3x16mm grub screw or pin, or
    • Toothed Gates Idler 6mm Belt, 20T, 5mm ID (some say it can improve surface finish and reduce ghosting) E3D store
      + 5x15mm or 5x16mm dowel pin. US store, EU store
  2. Screws:
  3. 6pcs M3x10mm
  4. 9pcs M3x18mm
  5. 12pcs hex or nyloc nuts
  6. Optional Igus RJ4JP-01-08 (only if having issues with stock bearings). US store, EU store, UK store
  7. Printed parts. I recommend 4+ perimeters and 30% infill. You may have to file them a bit if the tensioner doesn’t easily slide in the larger x-idler part.
  8. One x-motor
  9. One x-idler
  10. One x-idler-tensioner (corresponding to the idler)
  11. Two bearing spacers (optional)
  12. 8mm drill bit (if the rods don’t fit)
